Today, I’d love to share my impressions of a beautiful new fragrance from Roberto Cavalli – Florence Amber. And even though I haven’t yet had the pleasure of wandering the streets of Florence in person, I feel like I know the city by heart – thanks to books and travel documentaries. I can practically picture every little alleyway… and I might even recognize a few locals by name!
A Tuscan Treasure Drenched in Amber
Florence Amber is the latest creation from Tuscan-born designer Roberto Cavalli and a follow-up to his 2017 fragrance Florence – both of which are available at Elnino perfumery. The bottles look nearly identical, with the only difference being their color. The original Florence comes in a deep, velvety purple, and I swear, even through a photo, you can imagine what that fabric would feel like under your fingertips. Florence Amber, true to its name, radiates a warm, honeyed glow – like it’s captured the sunbeams bouncing off the Arno River on a golden afternoon. And to make sure you never mistake its roots, the bottle is adorned with a touch of gold, a nod to Florence’s iconic Ponte Vecchio – known as the Goldsmiths’ Bridge, thanks to the influential Medici family.
Fragrance Notes
This perfume is a gorgeous blend of juicy optimism and sweet refinement – the kind of composition that instantly lifts your mood. Picture this:
- Top: Lemon, Cypress, Mandarin Orange
- Heart: Cashmere Wood, Quince, Gardenia
- Base: Patchouli, Honey
How It Smells on Me
Within this amber glow, citrus notes mingle with golden honey, which quickly takes center stage. It threads through the entire scent like a shimmering golden ribbon around which everything else dances. What I love is that the fragrance isn’t moody or indecisive. It knows exactly who it is – and honestly doesn’t care if you approve or not. It walks into a room and lights up even the darkest corner. It stands confidently in the middle of a crowd, blissfully unaffected, ready to be admired.
You want to act unimpressed, raise an eyebrow, give it a cool, disinterested glance… but you can’t. It pulls at something in your chest – a longing to be wrapped in that golden glow. To close your eyes and escape for just a moment. Like you’re lying on warm sand, listening to waves, and the sun lulls you into sweet oblivion. And when you eventually open your eyes, it takes a few blinks to remember where you are.
That’s what Florence Amber does to me.
You Need It. Period.
This is a fragrance that’s bold, self-assured, and unapologetically feminine. It wraps you around its honeyed finger, and you fall for it – hook, line, and sinker. It doesn’t need to lean on the past or cling to family trees, legacies, or traditions. And it certainly doesn’t try to charm anyone by chasing fleeting trends. On the contrary – Florence Amber sets the stage and decides what deserves the spotlight.
If this scent were a tree in the middle of a raging storm, it would be the only one still standing tall while the world collapsed around it. Which brings us right back to Florence – the eternal city of art and rebirth. Just like the Renaissance capital itself, this fragrance leads the way, dazzling the world with timeless elegance.
Unbelievable Longevity
One last thing – even though Florence Amber is technically just an EDT, its staying power is jaw-dropping. It outperforms some of the heavier hitters in my collection and lingers on my skin for a solid 10 to 12 hours. I keep expecting it to vanish, but nope – it’s still there, still stunning. Absolutely fantastic!
